Material

Each garden hose nozzle has two main parts – sprayer and the handle. These items are supposed to be made from different materials. When some are made of metal, others are made of plastic or a combination of plastic and metal.

Metal hose nozzles are supposed to last longer but are usually heavier. So, you cannot hold them for longer periods as they are usually made of brass, stainless steel, aluminum, or die-cast. Styles

Turret or dial – You can turn the dial to adjust the spray pattern. It usually has 2 to 10 spray patterns, such as jet spray, fine mist, cone, flood, center spray, soak, and shower.

Watering – You can easily place water wherever you need. It can extend outwards like a telescope.

Fan – This type of nozzle pushes water off in fan-shaped pattern of spray. It is good for small garden and any shrubs or outdoor plants.

Fireman – It is the best choice to wash your vehicle due to high water pressure. You can easily turn from fine misting to forceful jet stream simply by twisting its nozzle.

Size

Some of the most common sizes of garden hoses include 3/8” diameter, ½” diameter, ¾ inch, 5/8 inch and 1 inch diameter. Usually, 5/8 inch is the ideal size for most of your gardening and hydration needs.

Spray patterns

Choose an option with easy to customize spray patterns. You can look for option to spray fine mist, stronger jet stream, steady shower, slower soaking, focused stream, or a combination of all of these. Choose a best garden hose nozzle with several types of spraying patterns.
